Jeanne D'Arc
6 January 1412 / 30 May 1431 · Domrémy / Rouen
This wall piece, made of metal fragments folded at varying angles, is an abstract relic — a disassembled suit of armour that catches the light the way faith catches doubt. Every broken surface, every unexpected refraction, evokes the figure of Joan of Arc: young, incandescent, alone in her conviction. The metal, folded but never broken, speaks of the tension between strength and grace, between body and calling. There is no face, no sword — only fragments. And yet the eye senses a presence. The piece does not depict: it evokes. Like faith, it does not show: it ignites.
